Amanda's Kick-Butt Workout!

Hi ladies! This time I'm here to give you a kick butt workout! Literally! This last weekend, I got to go to New Jersey for a GNC grand opening. I had a great time meeting people and giving out some BSN samples. One of the things that I love most about traveling is getting to work out in new gyms in different cities....and countries! I find that the new atmosphere, different energy, and unique equipment inspires and motivates me. It lets me think of past workouts I've done, or past things I've read about and wanted to try, or different techniques that I haven't done in awhile. Basically, it gets my creative gym juices flowing.

First of all, when traveling, I always find out if my hotel has a gym. 99% of the time I’m not booking my own hotel because when I travel it’s for work, so it’s always booked for me. That leaves me not knowing if I will have a gym available or not. That being said, I always check online at what the hotel has to offer, then if it’s small, with like just a few treadmills, I use my awesome gym finder app on my phone to find a gym near the hotel. It’s been the best help!

I then plan my workout around my work schedule and always, always make it a priority. If I simply can’t workout, because of all day work or travel, then I use that day as a rest day and get all of my other workout days in the rest of the week. Plan ahead and prioritize. So, being in New Jersey I had 3 options available to me: 1.) Gold’s Gym, which closed at 6m on Saturday (something I am NOT used to being in Vegas) 2.) World’s Gym! I haven’t trained at one in years and my very 1st gym ever to train at and 3.) Retro Fitness. Anyway, I chose option #2. World’s gym!

Walking in, it was huge! Lots of different equipment and a separate boxing station perfect for plyos, and tons of kettlebells. Being that I was traveling all day and oh my goodness I mean alllllll day Sunday, I knew it would be a rest day, so I decided to make this Saturday at Worlds a Leg day! My favorite! I was sooo sore after this workout, so I decided to share! Being so motivated, I just kept doing more things, so it turned out to be a lot, but heck it was fun! So, I highly suggest even if you’re not traveling, to switch up your atmosphere! Even if it means driving a bit further, or getting a day pass to a gym you don’t belong to, or trying out a friend’s gym. I think the change of atmosphere and equipment available to you may be just what you need. It was for me!

Here is the lower body booty workout I did. It kicked my butt!! Enjoy! And let me know how it goes!!!

AMANDA’S KICK-BUTT WORKOUT!
1.) Leg press with feet together: 3 sets of 20 reps
2.) Lunges on the smith machine: 3 sets of 15 reps
3.) Dumbbell squats super-set with dumbbell step ups: 3 sets of 20 reps (each exercise)
4.) Dumbbell reverse lunges: 3 sets of 12 reps
5.) Hack squats: 3 sets of 12/15/20 reps with 3 rest pauses at last set (pause for 3 seconds when you can’t do anymore, then do a few more reps)
6.) Jump lunges: 3 sets of 15 per leg (my legs were fried here I usually do 30 though on separate plyo day)
7.) Leg extensions: 3 sets of 20 reps with drop set on last set
