Staying True to Yourself
Always be true to yourself and ultimately what is going to make you happy

Often times I must remind myself these very words: “BE TRUE TO YOURSELF”. These words are so powerful but yet can easily be forgotten when you are in the midst of living your life. We are faced with choices everyday. You have the choice to be a better person, faced with choices about your career as well as choices on who you want to spend your life with and so on. I have come to the realization that I have not been true to myself this last year. Well that’s all going to change and honestly should have been something I did a long time ago.
How do we get here? Many times people make decisions based on how others might perceive it. Making others happy instead of myself has been something I have been guilty of for far too long. Great example is my friend Whitney Jones who is competing this weekend. She defied all of the odds and decided to compete even though she is faced with medical issues she wants to step on stage at least once as a pro competitor, so she was true to herself and decided to go for it!
Let’s be honest, because I am all about honesty and you know my blogs are all emotion, feeling and mental toughness. I leave for India in a couple of days on a journey to help change people lives but I am also going for me. This once in a lifetime opportunity couldn’t have come at a better time in my life. Don’t get me wrong, I love my life, I have a very successful business, an amazing fitness career, a home, great family and friends but something is missing. I feel this stagnant air about me, like I am stuck in a rut, a rut of ideas and not sure what to do with them. A feeling like I haven’t fulfilled my life's purpose. This is very deep emotion that only a few understand what I mean. I feel like I know what I want but I just don’t know how to piece it all together, and India being the spiritual country that it is I hope will help me put the pieces together. I will be there for 8 weeks on my own; yes with clients and some other people that I know, but essentially alone.
I believe this time will allow me to piece together my physical with my emotional, and I can somehow harness that power. That way when I come back to the states, I will know exactly what to do and there will be nothing stopping me. You can probably see I have thought a lot about this, mainly because I feel like things happen for a reason and I want to use my time wisely and this experience to the best of my ability.
We should always be true to ourselves and what is ultimately going to make us happy. Don’t lose yourself in any situation, circumstance or relationship. Stay true to who you are! Have a balance of being you whenever you feel like it!
Thanks so much for reading!
