Don't Take the Easy Way Out

The “easy way out”… it’s often tempting to take this route. In your efforts to become the you that you want and aspire to be, sometimes it’s just easier to let yourself off the hook, right? Well, I can skip the gym today because I just don’t feel like it. I can be rude to this person because I am just not feeling in a great mood. I will start on that goal that I would absolutely love to achieve…tomorrow. Any of these sound familiar? Believe me, we all experience feelings like this… yes, all of us… but the key for personal success is this: Even during these difficult times of doubt, push through and do not take the easy way out!

Be the Kind of You that You Want to Be
Do you wish that you could be kinder? Do you wish that you could help others more? Stop making excuses for why you are not behaving or performing at your personal best. It is not okay to treat someone badly, thinking that you will just make up for it another time. Guess what? There may not be another time if you keep that up! Treat others with the very same kindness and respect that you would appreciate. Understand that being in a bad mood is not a good excuse. As a matter of fact, any excuse that you use is a poor one. The more love that you give, the more that you will receive…that is not just a cliché!

Commit to Getting Healthy
Do you wish that you could stick to your diet? Do you wish that you could get into the gym to workout more often? Well, guess what? You can! You are the only one who is getting in your way. How many times did you hit the snooze button this morning? How many hours did you spend online or in front of the television? Ladies, those are the easy paths that are making your health and well being more complicated. Even if you have a very busy schedule, there is still time as long as you make time. Set your alarm for half an hour earlier and when it goes off, get up! Or, in your busy schedule, make time for your workout (and no, not in pencil, but in permanent ink!) and then follow your instruction. No excuses! You will feel better about yourself… literally!

Pursue Your Dreams
Do you wish that you would just work harder? Do you wish that you had more of a drive? Are you just going to settle where you are out of laziness? Why? If there is something that you want to achieve, go out and make it happen! What are you waiting for? Your life happens now ~ make it amazing! Understand that saying that you just “can’t do it” or that “something so great could never happen to me” are merely excuses simply because you do not feel like trying. Well, why not? Want another cliché? I thought so! But hey, this is so true: Where there is a will, there is a way! Along the way to making your dreams reality, there may be times of frustration where you want to scream and shout, but keep going and figure it out. No copouts!

Now, can you think of one good reason that you should not turn your life around for the better? I didn’t think so! So, flick that nagging little procrastinator off of your shoulder and embrace that voice that speaks to you from within. Start right now. Make your life exceptional… no exceptions!
