Go Figure: Week 6
Nicole hooks up with Ava Cowan for a training session and walks away with a new outlook on life.
I walked in there feeling bloated like a balloon, and standing next to Ava I’m sure I looked like one too. But I had to push all of that out of my mind and get to work. We immediately started in on the task at hand. I was set up with Ava to work on proper form for lifting but the most important thing my lesson actually ended up doing was helping me form a completely different mindset.
I quickly learned about Ava that not only was she as picture perfect she appears in pictures and on stage from a distance but she is without a doubt the most real, all around unbelievable people I have every met. Although Ava did help me with tremendously with my form and technique, I walked away with something even greater: A more positive outlook and a greater drive for life. We didn’t just talk about the gym and training. Our one-on-one was much more deep and powerful than that, and I can honestly say I am a changed woman, forever.
All of us struggle with difficult relationships. Sometimes it's with a significant other, other times it's with friends or even family, but the most important relationship is the one you have with yourself. Ava helped me realize that I can’t let anyone else define my life for me. There are so many people who will tell you what you want isn’t realistic or isn’t possible, but it is up to you to prove to yourself that it is.
Ava Cowan is such a strong individual not only physically, but also mentally. I looked up to her before I ever even knew her, and after spending a few hours with her in the gym, I have a whole new respect for her. Words can’t even describe what that day did for my life. But if you are reading this Ava, I just want to say thank you for everything, seriously.
The best thing I learned from Ava, and I think everyone needs to always keep this mind is, everything you do comes from within you. It’s your job to unleash it and use it to do good in your life.
