In a recent "Lighter and Leaner" recipe makeover, we listed an ingredient commonly sold at natural-foods stores. To this, a reader responded that she lived "in the sticks" and had access to only commercial supermarkets. Since this article reflects real-life choices, we aimed to select foods sold in most supermarkets nationwide, rather than only a Whole Foods or Wild Oats chain. Some brands listed below may vary from coast to coast, but you should be able to find most of these products at a store near you.
