Vitamin B12 has powerful antioxidant effects
Vitamin B12 (cobalamin) comes in many forms and is necessary for the metabolism of protein, carbohydrates and fat; aids in fat-burning processes; and is essential for nervous system function. One recent study compared the antioxidant effects of several forms of B12 to the two pre-eminent antioxidants N-acetylcysteine (NAC) and glutathione. Turns out B12 bound to either one was more potent than NAC or glutathione alone. Be on the lookout for these B12 vitamin combinations as manufacturers catch on to this free-radical fighter.
